Bicycle NSW petition regarding the delay for the Sydney Harbour Bridge North ramp

Cyclists will have to wait at least another two years before the state government decides to deliver on its promise to provide them an alternative to hauling their bikes up several flights of stairs at the northern end of Sydney Harbour Bridge.

So why should a Ramp to the Harbour Bridge Cycleway be built if about 2,000 riders per day are using the present arrangement?

The simple answer is that a Ramp is needed for those riders who are presently NOT riding over the Harbour Bridge! This includes many parents with kids on bike seats, those who need an e-bike and can’t negotiate the stairs, those with cargo bikes, etc.

This Ramp is emblematic of the lack of cycleway connectivity in Sydney. We must achieve this critical infrastructure on our busiest cycleway.
